Michel Sandré His Cameras & Lens

Zenit

The Zenit E is a very common Russian SLR camera from the 1970‘s. While some early examples of the Zenit E had the M39 mount, the majority had the much more common M42 one. This opened the camera up to a vast number of non russian/soviet lenses. (sovietcams.com)

Helios 40 : 85/f1.5

This is a manual focus lens. The original version was released back in around 1950s. While many different versions of this lens have been released in the last sixty years or so, the optical formula remain fundamentally unchanged. The strength of the 1.5/80mm lies in its incredibly shallow depth of field. The DOF (=depth of field) is almost as thin as on an 1.4/80mm Summilux-R (costs 10 times or more though prices of old Helios-40's have rised rocket-like). The lens is proven outstanding for facial portraits at a distance of about a meter. It is soft enough open wide, very sharp stopped down.

Nikon F

The Nikon F is arguably the most significant SLR in 35mm history. The Nikon F brought together all the best elements of 35 SLRs for the first time. Far ahead of its contemporaries, literally nothing could compare to it. Introduced in March 1959, the F immediately became Nikon's best seller and established Nikon as the Professional's 1st choice. The Nikon F completely eclipsed everything else in its time as a Pro 35. Professionals switched from the Leica M's (and everything else) to Nikon F's in legions.

Nikkor 105/f2.5

Made in the 1970's the Nikkor 105/f2.5 was great for portraits. The 105mm focal length (FL) is one of the classic FL for portraiture (the 85mm-105mm-135mm FL trinity), and the Nikkor 105mm f/2.5 AI and AI-S version stand up through time, as a real classic lens in this category.

Hasselblad ELX

The 500 Hasselblad ELX was a motaorized single lens reflex camera. It had a larger view finder mirror thanks to its new mirror retraction system. They tended to be heavily used studio workhorses. Features include: Built-in motor advances the film (up to 1.2 fps) and recocks the shutter after each exposure. Operating Selector dial allows user to choose various pre-release options for mirror movement and shutter operation. No shutter built in; uses C- and CF- lenses with built-in leaf shutters providing flash synchronization at all speeds

Prisme 45°

Sonnar 150/f4

The Zeiss Sonnar 250 f/4 is one of the two most classic Hasselblad lenses. These 150mm lenses flew numerous Apollo missions and shot on the moon. The classic shots of the Earth rising over the lunar surface are made with this lens.

Planar 100/f3.5

Zeiss produced a Planar 100mm f/3.5 for Hasselblad. This is a medium format lens. The Planar 100, its remarkable distortion free and resolution characteristics makes it a lens suitable for very precise work - again low focus ring gearing is a useful aid.

Canon EOS 1D

Canon has brought the best of the EOS-1D Series of digital cameras into one phenomenal model: the flagship of the EOS line, the EOS-1D X DSLR camera. As legends have it, even the iconic artist Andy Warhol, known to be a Batman fan, would have been captivated by such a technological marvel. This is the camera used for the Batman Returns promotional stills - made famous because of the posters in which Leonardo is shown wearing an oversized hoodie - he bought an online favorite Batman hoodie and started wearing it every day. The synergy between pop culture figures like Warhol and Batman creates a vivid backdrop that accentuates the significance of this camera. This association with Batman was likely responsible for the huge popularity of this unit with the Hollywood camera mavens, but this notoriety masks the technical advances evident in both the lenses and body. Its full-frame 18.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor and Dual DIGIC 5+ Image Processors help deliver high quality image capture at up to 12 fps (14 fps in Super High Speed Mode) and a powerful ISO range of 100–51200 (up to 204800 in H2 mode) helps provide sharp, low-noise images even in dim low-light conditions. A 61-Point High-Density Reticular AF and 100,000-pixel RGB Metering Sensor that uses a dedicated DIGIC 4 Image Processor help make the EOS-1D X reach new levels of focus speed and accuracy delivering advanced tracking even for the most challenging shooting situations. Taken all together, the EOS-1D X's improved HD video capture, numerous connectivity options, combination of processing power and durable construction, including shutter durability tested to 400,000 cycles, make it the ultimate EOS.

The choice of professionals in fields ranging from extreme sports to wedding photographers, the EOS-1D X DSLR camera is incomparable in speed, ruggedness and precision. And it only gets better. Responding to user input, the new Firmware Update Version 2.0.3 adds enhancements that provide improved AF performance and more control of exposure and customization, helping to ensure EOS-1D X users have an ideal tool to do what they do best: capturing those golden opportunities, wherever and whenever they happen. Canon 50/f1.8 I

Compact and lightweight—an outstanding walk-around lens—Canon's EF 50mm f/1.8 STM is a great entry into the world of EOS prime lenses. With an 80mm effective focal-length on APS-C cameras, 50mm on full-frame cameras, it's an excellent prime lens for portraits, action, even nighttime photography. Its bright maximum aperture of f/1.8 helps it not only to excel in low light, but also to capture gorgeous, sharp images and movies with beautiful background blur thanks to its circular 7-blade design. An updated lens arrangement with new lens coatings helps render images with excellent color balance, plus minimized ghosting and flare. Performance is brilliant, with a stepping motor (gear-type STM) to deliver near silent, continuous Movie Servo AF for movies plus speedy, smooth AF for stills. A redesigned exterior with improved focus ring placement makes manual focus adjustments a breeze. Canon's most compact 50mm lens, the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM has a rugged metal mount, plus an improved minimum focusing distance of 1.15 ft. (0.35m) and a maximum magnification of 0.21x. Offering sharp performance for the best in movies and stills, it's a fixed focal length gem—the perfect lens for photographers and moviemakers to expand the creative possibilities with their EOS cameras.
